The NeuroEquity Project is a nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing equity and inclusion for neurodivergent individuals through advocacy, education, and empowerment. We are currently seeking a Treasurer to join our Board of Directors and play a critical role in shaping the financial integrity and strategic vision of our mission.
Treasurer Role Overview
As Treasurer, you will oversee the organization’s finances, ensuring compliance with nonprofit financial standards and supporting our vision of equitable and inclusive communities. Your contributions will directly impact The NeuroEquity Project’s ability to grow and sustain its work.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain oversight of the organization’s financial records and ensure compliance with state and federal nonprofit regulations.
- Collaborate with the Board and Executive Leadership to develop and monitor annual budgets.
- Review and present financial reports at board meetings, ensuring clarity and accuracy.
- Ensure the timely filing of tax returns, audit documents, and other financial obligations.
- Serve as a trusted advisor in financial planning and fundraising initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Experience in finance, accounting, or a related field (CPA preferred but not required).
- Familiarity with nonprofit financial practices and reporting requirements is highly desirable.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Commitment to advancing equity and inclusion for neurodivergent individuals.
- Ability to attend quarterly board meetings (virtual and/or in-person) and collaborate between meetings as needed.
Time Commitment:
Approximately 5–10 hours per month.
